HN mostly cites it in anti-Agile and anti-Scrum threads as a sharp critique, with one commenter noting the tenth man idea.
Erik Meijer gives a provocative talk presenting what he calls a rational alternative to Agile, arguing against Scrum-style practice. He also touches on the tenth-man concept.
My rant was more about the Metaverse as proposed and controlled by Meta. Funny, after I wrote this I watched a Eric Meijer video and he talked about the 10th man, a concept new to me. I was being the 10th man for a moment. In a group of 10, one is designated as the 10th man (or person, but I'll go with Erik's term.) When 9 people agree, the 10th man is required to disagree. This throws a monkey wrench into groupthink. 2016 - One Hacker Way Rational alternative of Agile - Erik Meijer (at minute 25:00 in case the time param doesn't work) [this video] Edit: He's now Director Of Engineering at Meta so maybe he can be the 10th man at Meta [link]
In the Benelux, try to get a job after answering what you really think about Scrum. If the local Scrum Master is present in the interview team you will be "persona non grata" for the rest of your career... Make yourself stupid...you will be hired. [link]
Erik Meijer has a beautiful video saying basically the same: “Agile is a cancer we have to eliminate from the industry”. I believe the original video also had this title. [this video]
