HN cites it critically as an example of corporate apology marketing that rang hollow, and as a TV ad using gray placeholder rectangles.

It's only powerful if you actually change. Otherwise you're just using one of the classic tricks of manipulators. "I'm sorry, it won't happen this time" is what abusive relationships are made of. [this video] Do people find this sincere? It seems fake/manipulative and too convenient. Facebook has been doing this for a decade+.
Upload your own porn to Facebook, hilarious! Zuckerberg really hasn't changed and he still believes his users are dumb fucks. Knowing real Facebook, I would imagine at minimum they will be extracting tattoos from these photos and sharing it with FBI/LEs of all sorts. AS it turns out many criminal cases are being solved because someone flashed their tattoo. So 10 years from now Zuck will be on the road apologizing that they shared your naked photos/tattoos with LEs but you know thats for the common good so its allright. But definitely we will do better lol :) Here Together: [this video] Edit: its beyond hilarious that the upload above has comments section disabled LOL! Social network not so much LOL
FB will settle out of court. Probably a third of what shareholders are asking. Lawyers get paid handsomely on both sides. Parent company has washed away the stink of Cambridge Analytica fallout (remember those bs “sorry” videos and newspaper ads? [1,2]). Shareholders get a pittance. I’m a bit over this hyper-capitalistic market. When are C-level executives going to pay for their actions? Where is the jail time for these people? This country is a joke. [1] [this video] [2] [link]
