HN recommended it as a good beginner screencast and as an example of the kind of tutorial other frameworks needed.
Dan Wahlin's hour-long beginner course on AngularJS builds a small single-page app while covering SPAs, directives, filters and data binding. It gives an initial grounding in Angular 1.
“I'd recommend sitting through Dan Wahlin's hour intro to Angular.” (HN, 2016)
Documentation really is not beginner friendly. Try watching these screencasts which will introduce you to the workflow and the beauty of AngularJS and you will make a small application during the exercise: AngularJS Fundamentals In 60-ish Minutes by Dan Wahlin: [this video] Introduction to Angular JS by David Mosher: [link]
Beginner-friendly screencast introducing AngularJS workflow while building a small app.
For Angular 1, I'd recommend sitting through Dan Wahlin's hour intro to Angular. Don't code, just watch. It really helped me get that initial chunk of knowledge in my head. [this video]
Hour-long intro that gives initial grounding in Angular 1.
Intimidating was probably a poor choice of words. I guess odd would be better? Idk. It was just a deterrent for me. I can get over the syntax but the installation errors coupled with it being weird was just enough to make me drop the tutorial I was working on. I do hope to start working with React again. It took me a few times to really get into angular so I'm sure once a guide comes out that really gets the details right I'll be fine. Something like this[1] for React would be amazing. 1.
