I agree in some sense, an astonishing number of Bach pieces have been rewritten for a bewildering array of instruments and sound absolutely amazing. But Bach is kind of like Math, it's true regardless if it's written in chalk on a chalk board or in mustard on an umbrella. Yet there's also plenty of great music that really only sounds good on the instrument, something about it is very "subjective" with respect to the particulars of the orchestration. I'll sometimes spend hours digging into covers of favorite songs on youtube, and it really is amazing how different kinds of music can survive this kind of instrument shifting. just some sharing here's a well known Bach Suite [this video] now on guitar [link] on piano [link] flute [link] on Nyckelharpa [link] electric guitar [link] another electric guitar [link] Baritone Saxophone [link] Michael Hedges [link] Bass Guitar [link] Recorder [link] Tuba [link] Banjo [link] Rock version [link] Bobby McFerrin (not quite the same, but still...) I'm very glad this finally becomes available. I immediately asked it to do what I wanted for almost a decade: generate 30 minutes of Bach Cello Suite No.1 in G Prelude[1] (I want to listen to it for hours but don't want a loop neither do I want the whole original - only the prelude, subtle variations are welcome). The result was 9 seconds of ear horror. Do I need better hardware to get a listenable result (I ran it on a Ryzen laptop)? [1] [this video]
