HN finds it mesmerizing and uses it to build intuition for waveforms and oscilloscope XY drawing.

Jerobeam Fenderson shows how to draw a mushroom on an oscilloscope in XY mode using stereo audio, then animates it by modulating with a larger wave. Pd and Max4Live patches are provided.

Anyone have a some tips on wanting to build intuition on wave-forms, electronics, and having fun with an oscilloscope? This was amazing to me: How To Draw Mushrooms On An Oscilloscope With Sound [this video]

I find this video quite mesmerizing: [this video] Essentially it draws an object on an oscilloscope by splitting the audio channel into x y coordinates.

I like this guy. I thought this was going to be a more introductory video: [this video] (holy c *, he published a lot of these since 2014, they're pretty good :) ) This has been done with quake: [link]
Fenderson has published many good oscilloscope videos since 2014

What you've written is extremely interesting. Not sure how much of it I truly understand, but I wanted to add that your explanation for everything as a wave function reminded me of oscilloscope music, ie. depicting images with waveforms. A tutorial I watched demonstrates the drawing of a mushroom, then animates it by modulating with a larger wave. In my laymen's head model, Spacetime is like a very large wave that everything else is being modulated by. Here's the relevant video: [this video]
