Years with an HN recommendation, 2007–2026

Used as a reference point when comparing other legged robots, such as the MIT Cheetah, on gait and speed.

Boston Dynamics shows WildCat, a four-legged robot built with DARPA funding that reached about 19 mph using bounding and galloping gaits.

“it looks more natural and more balanced with the legs out of sync” (HN, 2015)

If I plug in a YouTube link will it also tally all of the YouTube link variations for that video? For example, if I put in [this video] , will it also include the shortened [this video] in the tally?

on HN thread MIT Cheetah Robot Bounds Off Tether, Outdoors
The bounding part is very cool (I caught myself leaning forward in surprise [and mild horror?] as the machine jumped over the box instead of maneuvering around it). Besides not requiring fuel, does anyone know how this is different/better/unique than Google/BostonDynamic's WildCage? ( [this video] ) I certainly agree that more people working on this is a good thing, but I'd like to understand the progress being made.
Comparison point for the MIT Cheetah robot.

Is this where Boston Robotics comes in? For heavy load, they have wild cat[wildcat] and for lighter loads, they have spot [spot]. For Ussain Bolt, there is the cheetah [cheetah] that can keep up with the pace peaking at over 29 miles per hour. All these are at various stages in development and as far as I understand not ready for production. spot [this video] wildcat [this video] cheetah [link]
