Recommended as a decent introduction to the Vampire accelerator and a cheaper way to modernize classic Amigas.

Dan Wood reviews the Vampire 2 FPGA accelerator for the Amiga 600. He covers how much faster it makes the machine and what it can run.

“This is a decent introductory video” (HN, 2016)

Good to see the Vampire will be making an appearance, though I'm guessing no new announcements about upcoming releases. For anyone out of the loop with Commodore stuff, the Vampire is an FPGA-based accelerator for classic Amigas. This is a decent introductory video: [this video]

A1200 boards are over 25 years old. A lot of the boards are damaged because of capacitors leaking, just being old. Many of us that still use the Amigas like using "proper hardware". I like the idea of taking a 25 year old computer and hacking the machine to play DOOM or going on IRC or even checking my emails. FPGAs have been used for Amiga Accelerators the fastest accelerator (at present) is the Apollo Vampire V2. Here is a complete rundown of the accelerator: [this video]
