HN recommends it as an insider-style look at quants and high-frequency trading and their effect on markets.

A VPRO documentary on quantitative analysts who designed the mathematical models and high-speed trading systems behind modern finance. It features figures such as Paul Wilmott and asks what risks come from treating markets as a machine.

“just to get an insider look into quant traders and the effect HFT can have on the market, I also recommend these two short documentaries” (HN, 2013)

I'm happy to see this pop up on HN since HFT is something I've been looking into lately. If you're interested to dig deeper into HFT and algorithmic trading, 'Inside the Black Box' will be a good read. And just to get an insider look into quant traders and the effect HFT can have on the market, I also recommend these two short documentaries made by the dutch national TV: 1. Quants: The Alchemists of Wall Street [this video] 2. Money & Speed: Inside the Black Box [link]
Insider look at quant traders and HFT's market effects.

Check out the works of Paul Wilmott, which include textbooks and a magazine of the same name which is (or at least used to be) the most expensive magazine subscription there is. Wikipedia: [link] Documentary on "quants" featuring him: [this video] For finance in general, I recommend "Corporate Finance" by Berk & de Marzo or the CFA study material, which is quite accessible (at least for Level 1).
Documentary on quants featuring Paul Wilmott.

Good point but it won’t stop DeFi’s growth. In my opinion, such risks shouldn’t stop DeFi’s growth neither. Similar risks have been present in conventional finance and economy too. Relevant: [this video] Instead of fearing from the risks we should quantify and analyze them.
Relevant to risks present in conventional finance.
