Recommended as a rare detailed look at how 3b1b videos are made, including live debugging of his rendering engine.
Grant Sanderson of 3Blue1Brown shows his workflow for animating math videos with Manim, with Ben Sparks. He codes scenes live, including a Lorenz attractor, and walks through example scenes.
“I want to highlight the demo video [0], where Grant explains how he works with Manim.” (HN, 2025)
Grant's work with 3blue1brown and Manim is simply amazing. The quality of the videos is so high, not the least thanks to the visualizations. Not an easy task given the abstract nature of the topic. It's linked in the readme, but I want to highlight the demo video [0], where Grant explains how he works with Manim. [0] [this video]
there is at least one video, if not a series of videos, where he explains his process in detail, showing the coding process and everything. it is a collaboration with another person where, if i recall, he is teaching them. i will see if i can find it. edit: "How I animate 3Blue1Brown | A Manim demo with Ben Sparks" [this video] more on workflow: [link] code for videos: [link] manim: [link] manim community edition: [link]
Shows detailed process with the coding for making 3b1b videos.
