Onboard footage of Timo Bernhard setting the Nurburgring Nordschleife lap record of 5:19.546 in the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, beating Stefan Bellof's 35-year-old time. The car reaches 369 km/h.

Still 35 seconds off the record time for a production car. Far off of the hybrid Mercedes-AMG ONE (~6:30). The battery tech is still too heavy to be as fast and as nimble as ICE or hybrid (there's a balance there between torque for acceleration and energy density). The record time was 5:19.546 in the Porsche 919 hybrid (non-production)... watching video of that run still blows my mind (I have a racing background). [this video]

Watching slower production cars drive for example Nurburgring can be quite relaxing, but these class of cars are truly terrifying. For example here is the lap record video of the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo: [this video] [Edit: Note that for this they basically took an LMP1 car and then broke the rule book by modifying it]
Lap record video of the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, a terrifyingly fast LMP1-based car.
