I had a 386/40DX that could run Second Reality, and I was blown away. When I upgraded to a 486/66DX2 the first thing I did was run Second Reality, and I was shocked at how much of the demo content I had missed before from parts being truncated. Also it’s worth noting that a lot of Second Reality’s source code got released to GitHub several years back: [link] and here’s an incredibly deep dive into the code: [link] Finally, here’s some rare footage of the creation of the legendary demo: [this video] (English subtitles available)
this video showed up in a recent thread about Second Reality and I had never seen it, so this audience may enjoy that, too: [this video] ("Making of Second Reality / Future Crew")

Wow check out 1993 - we have come soooo far: [this video] Listen to those hard drives! Netscape Navigator didn't come out until over a year later (December 1994) and IE 1.0 another year after that. Wow.

Because he's finnish it reminds me of this 1993 video of Future Crew making the PC demo "Second Reality": [this video] (There's high quality english subtitles there.) Finished product: [link] [link]

I do. They ushered a new era on the PC, where PC finally had something that could compare with the demo quality of Amiga demos. To be more concrete, it was "Second Reality" that they did it with: [link] and here's Future Crew making it: [this video] Europe and Summer school holidays. Perfect time to code.
I'm thinking the democoders could create scarcity. I'm imagining e.g. Future Crew making a Third reality . Or Triton making Crystal Dream III . Release at like a 300p video for the world and like AM audio mono sound quality and sell the binary to the highest bidder. Or perhaps smarter, release it at 1:1 quality for the first minute, but only for the first minute. ;) Edit: of course this would be a horrible future. Also, there's no way these now old guys could recreate the magic they experienced together in the early 90s. Example: [this video] (make sure to enable the thirdparty english subtitles)
